TBH is it worth 10-12k more to have a newish one with 5k miles on the clock when you can have a 2004 facelift for around 15k with 10k miles on the clock??
Theres a 2005 with 3k on the clock for £21k.....lets leave it for sale!!!!

Rasher
Had one for six months, they are not quick ! Steering lock is very very bad, no driver aids, and when pushing on didnt inspire confidence. On the plus side it did feel special to drive, returned 22mpg on mixed, 28mpg on a run. And was like driving a car with Elvis on the roof. We replaced it with a 182, half the price and a bit more and has a better spec. I have also had 2 Clio Cups, the 182 is quicker than the Vee for me as it gives me better feedback, although glad we had a Vee. They all suffer from stonechipping, ours was resprayed at 10k !!

Rasher - to be honest I never really ragged it round corners, really needed to do an airfield day to find the limits. Didnt help I had the 'once it goes you wont get it back' statement engraved in my mind. The v6 on full chat noise is fabulous. I would have another as a second car in a flash though as they are special, just too flawed for everyday use. Interested to see what you think on the performance, its not in the Scoobs league tho !
Ours was a 54 plate, bought it in Dec05 for 18k when it was a yr old, sold it July 06 with 14k for 17.5k, needed a service and 2 rear tyres. Was mint but we were the third owners at a yr old !!! In blue as well.. Find a good one and you wont loose much. It sold in two weeks and we had alot of interest, the owners put most people off, so if I was buying again I would want a one owner car really.

My mate had a MK1 and a MK2 and i got to drive both of them.
MK2 was a lot better than MK1, but still not the best, they do look and sound great and attracked a lot attention.
The steering lock if awful, they're not very quick for what they r (your S202 would be quicker), they have a lot of grip but if you push a little to far they bite back with very little warning.
They also break quite easily my mate went through 3 gearbox's between the 2 cars and had many other problems besides.

If Clarkson likes a frogmobile it musnt be pretty good.
The snap oversteer thing is inevitable due to the short wheelbase - but if you look at how bloody well it goes in the wet in that vid...

I was tempted to buy a MK1 in September last year when the Renault dealer that my mate was working at had one in.
They let me have it for a few hours on my mates day off and it was a fantastic experience.
The performance was better than I was expecting, albeit, not ridiculous and the noise is like nothing else
.
However, the attention you receive is unbelievable. You can't go anywhere without people staring, which was fun, but I don't know whether i'd grow tired of it.
After having it in for 6 weeks, they offered me a good deal, 8k for my MY00 scoob as trade-in
, but I couldn't bring myself to take the plunge and i'm still not sure whether I regret it or not.
They are flawed and you'd have to be dedicated to use them every day for any length of time, but they are special, and I'd like to have one one day.

Nige!!!!!WTF.....I cannot see you in a renault mate. If you must sell the 202 at least have a drive in a fq360. I just think a renault would not float your boat mate!! Failing that I'll do you a straight swap for the astra![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

gutted today went to Graham Walkers in Chester just to see a MK 2 Vee in the metal and try to blagg a test drive, only the new owner had picked it upa couple of hours earlier.
Dont suppose anyone knows someone who has a Vee in the Manchester area that might be willing to take me for a ride??
