Default Panda 100hp depreciation?

I am reading great things about this car.

What do you think the depreciation would be like if i bought one?

Probably nasty but I like the idea of it a lot.

Seem to be a few great superminis around at the moment.

I reckon you could haggle hard with the dealer.

Mention the Suzuki Swift, Ignis Sport, Mini, Ford Sportka and any others you can think of so he has to work hard to get a deal.

We got £3k off list for our car by doing some well planned haggling playing three dealers off each other!

Depreciation is lower on a lower value car. The percentage may be higher but the actual figure will be lower.

eg

Loose 40% of a £10K car in a year and you loose £4K
Loose 20% of a £30K car in a year and you loose £6K

If depreciation is a big worry never buy a new car

I have seen a couple of these cars, both dealer demo's I think - they have a pretty good turn of speed and grip like you wouldn't believe. Would be interested to know what you think after a test drive.

It's going to be high but as youll get a good discount and it's cheap to start with the amount you'll lose in depreciation will be small.

Seem like a good idea to me. Reasonably powerful engine in a small basic car that's meant to handle well.

When the Fiat Cinquecento Sporting was first released it held it's value very well indeed. If the car does what you want it to do then I believe there are a lot worse choices on the market.

Fiats usually have savage depreciation, but if its popular and proves to be reliable (read Toyota Yaris) it might not fair too badly.

Loving the look of them too mate, and have been very tempted to replace my wife's Berlingo with one.....................found a brand new one at a UK dealer with delivery miles(pre-reg)for £8995(£1000 off list)...............only i am still waiting for him to get back to me when it arrives(Fiat/Alfa don't seem to have very good dealers).

I have seen them in Metallic Blue and Metallic Grey, and IMO the Grey is definately THE colour for one......................great spec too,Climate Control and Bluetooth as standard, and as you say, they are getting fantastic reviews,so the price may not be heavily discounted for a while which will keep ex demo/used ones prices relatively high..................when you look at the lower spec Panda's though a 3 year old one is selling for around 3.5k,so that has to be 50%+ of it's value at 3 years............not bad!!

Thanks for all the advise so far. I also think it looks great in grey.

Seems like a good, quality, quick car with future cult status.

I have just bought the wife a Ford Sport Ka brand new for £7500 on the road which I thought was a blinding deal. I've got to say it goes very well and handles like a go kart, it is EVO mags fav supermini also.

I test drove one on saturday - brakes were shockingly grabby - almost to the point of ridiculous!

engine wise - really have to work it hard - very little torque, and very revvy. handles great - shap turn in, little roll and great front end grip

would i buy one - 10k no way, maybe 8k thats it.

Oh, interior is ok, rides high up and feels a little MPV like

does look the bollox from the otside though!

It is indeed! My Mum is after a Sportka, was this a UK car from a main dealer? Did you go through a broker?

I`d be interested that`s all.

Oh, Love the 100HP Panda, can`t think Fiat dealers will be willing to deal too much at the moment what with all the good reports of the car.

I have been looking at these too. They remind me of my old Fiesta 1.25Si. I reckon if you walked into a Fiat dealer with a wadge of £20 notes they would let you have one for £8k. Yes they will be in demand, but I doubt very much if Fiat will be looking at preserving residuals at the expense of extra sales. As a residual purchase I think they will be very good. They offer a lot of car for the money and used small cars are always in demand.

It was bought through a UK Ford dealer, it had to be registered before xmas to get the deal (targets to meet I think), price has now gone up £450 but still a good deal considering RRP is £9,995.

The deal was done via the internet and the car delivered on a trailer with no probs, they took a £500 deposit and the balance on delivery via debit card or bankers draft (very trusting I thought).

New Ford Sportka

Oh BTW Panther Black with the leather and blue inserts looks cool

Has anyone dealt with Motorlogix. Would it still be a full 3 year warranty with fiat buying from them? How much will the fiat 500 be?
