Hi Pete,
I have just done this and it's a very easy job! There are basically a few bolts underneath the skirt which are easily indone with a ratchet and socket and then there's a screw at the rear of the back one and a plastic rivet at the front of the front one. After that they just pop off with a light pull as they have those pop clips like you get on car interiors. The rubber seal comes off easily then simply take them to be resprayed. Make sure whoever keys them that they get right into the line/groove that passes through them otherwise the paint will come away and lift.

Pete, yes I took them to a guy I use locally who is an absolute perfectionist and he's done a top job!! Mine were already painted from new and they were peeling. After spending 2 days getting them back to bare plastic and keying them etc he said that he would never again re-spray pre painted skirts completely. Said it would almost be cheaper to buy new ones as the amount of work going in to prepping them. Had he applied paint straight on top it would only have flaked off at a later stage due to the paint underneath coming off. However he would be very happy to paint un painted skirts etc!! I basically took off all the skirts, side, rear and front lip spoiler, plus the front and rear bumper, a '99 spec grille and my spotlamp covers and he did the lot for £350,he didn't respray, but actually took everything right back and started from fresh. He initially wanted £400 I knocked him down but then gave him £400 in the end anyway as he did such a good job and spent so much time on them, he also helped me hack up my front skirt and bumper to accomodate the FMIC!
I'd recommend him to anyone on this list if they live nearby.
