Question

All this talk of 22B's has sent my grey matter into overtime.
My Car is absolutely mint (not a single chip or dent), has the balance of a 5yr unlimited mileage warranty and is unmodded. If I could get a reasonable price I may change it, what do people think its worth?
Thanks Geoff
PS I love the car!!!!

Wink

You still see low mileage examples of jap 22B's going for 35k+ so id say around 39/40k for a uk one.

But...what you have to think about is most UK cars are out of warranty now so buyers won't have that peace of mind. The cars I've looked at have varied in price from £25k to £39k and some are UK and some are Jap spec. Most of the UK ones I've heard about anyway are modded so technically the warranty is invalid anyway I have no worries about buying a Jap spec one over a UK car because parts are not a problem provided you have contacts.

My ex local Scoob garage have a UK car which he keeps in storage all year and once in a blue moon, places in the showroom with a £50k tag on it. Needless to say, it doesn't sell and is a waste of a car. The one in Reading will probably remain in the showroom for eternity too but it all depends on how much a buyer want it I suppose. I wouldn't buy it that's for sure.

I think it depends on how you are selling it... If you put it up at £35k, someone will probably buy it eventually, but in the current market cars aren't easy to sell. AFAIK The cheapest a 22b has been sold for was £20k, and they needed to get rid, that was a jap car, and a decent Jap car can be had for £30k or less if you can find... As there are only 16 uk cars, several of which are being held by dealers/traders who only want to sell for serious $$$$, a UK car is harder to price. I bet if you called round dealers most will offer £25k-£30k, but I could be wrong... Still relatively small depreciation really.

What would you replace it with anyway?

Hi Guys - still have over 6mths of the original 3yr warranty left - the car is unmodded and I have extended the warranty for a further two years. If I sold it the only car I would realistically replace it is a GT3.

Mmmmmm.....I'm still in negotiations with a chap who has a UK with 600 miles on the clock, owned from new with a price tag of now £42k, he originally said he'd accept £40k, I offered £35k then up't it to £37500 but he remained firm.

My decision to wait believing he would come down I think was wrong and it seems likely that he will now be firm on £42k.....I'm still pondering.

We all want a bargain
