Default caliper refurb?

I have got the 4 pots on myv6 sti, but i think the pistons are starting to stick, i replaced one piston a few weeks ago, had to get new dics and pads as well, but i think the drivers side may be starting to play up a v bit.

I think someone on here does a refyrb service for them, by cleaning them up, butting new pistons in, seals etc.

does anyone know who this is if anyone?

thanks :-)

Godspeed used to refurbish Subaru 4-pots; I was told recently that he had stopped though.

You could try Brakes International in Rochdale. Google them. I got an exchange caliper for a 306 GTI-6 from them a few years back.

I would think any Subaru specialist would do this for you.
You can get all the parts.
A long way from you, but try Alyn at AS Performance in Co Durham.

Bit closer: PowerStation in Tewsksbury

Or Nissan Specialist

Subaru nicked the 4 and 2 pot rear calipers from the Nissan 300ZX. Same pad and everything!

Do they? Ian told a friend of mine that he was stopping doing Impreza calipers (due to the long lead-times).....

How much did it cost?

Try, asking around the local garages, motor factors or even looking in Yellow Pages, you might turn up someone local. I di for my last car, way up here in the godforsakem north of Lincolnshire

It's defo NOT rocket science, TBH, anyone with a bit of skill can do it.

Got a seal kit from GGR and did mine a couple of years ago. You can't get replacement pistons but there was someone on here talking about having copies made in stainless steel. Think the plan was for them to be £15 each -do a search in the brake section.

Interesting about the 300zx - wonder if Nissan sell replacement pistons?

Bought some pads for a Scooby a while back and the guy in parts shop said, these are the pads for the 300ZX.

Depends what it entails. New pistons, seals etc and a complete sandblast, paint etc, then not bad.

Otherwise, DIY.

We offer a reconditioning service for all types of brake calipers for all cars. We strip the calipers down and they are chemically cleaned, bead blasted, crack tested, spray painted in the colour of your choice and rebuilt using new pistons and seals.

All of our calipers come with a two year unlimited mileage guarantee.

Default Referbished units from Mills Autos........

I had to do the front Calliper's on my classic. Not the same type though, but I got recon units from Mills autos in my home town. £196 for the pair, plus got £32 back on the old units as they were good enough to be refurbished..............try auto shops local to you as they may well do the same thing. A lot cheaper than from Subaru, they wanted buckets loads more money for new ones!
