Default Classic exhaust choice and why ?

Which full system would you buy and why ?

1. Hayward and scott
2. Power engineering
3. Is scoobysport still available ?

Cheers !

This question might be a bit of a red herring because I believe the original scoobysport exhaust was made by Hayward and Scott. And, I believe the Power Engineering system is also made by Hayward and Scott!

Another vote for afterburner vortex by hayward and scott, had one on mine a couple of yrs and love it would only consider a blitz nur spec other than this-just depends how loud you wanna go though to be fair and wether you want a subtle or in your face tailpipe, scoobyworld quote between 25 and 30bhp increase(expect its about 20bhp) on a classic with the afterburner(no cats), not had mine on the rollers but it made a big difference.

just bear in mind that a full decat straight through system is very loud indeed..... you can run a resonator center section which cuts the noise down a fair bit with out compromising the total power output too much ( roughly 5-10 hp at most) being a night worker i need to consider others too.

and mine does sound the mutts nuts as it is

Sanity - Revolution...

...Or Hayward and Scott and say you want it quiet.

Why not wind the window down or drive through cuttings/tunnels if you like to hear the exhaust.... Modern cars are pretty well insulated from external sounds. Just wind the window down an inch or so....

Full Revolution 3" system including both decats. Got probably the deepest rumble IMO. I have this on MY00. Together with all my other mods makes the car sound very nice.

full scoobyworld decat with newage prodrive backbox, after buying and selling more than 8 backboxes i finally found the perfect sound for me, its not to loud when driving around normal and sounds really deep when flooring it, theres no rasp at all which i hate, it sounds simular to a ninja backbox but more deep. i would definatly recomend it.

I have a decat downpipe and a de cat centre, and a Hayward and Scott jap style 5" exit,,which gives off a great rumbling on tick over and an almighty roar on acceleration......

The Hayward and Scott backbox is for sale,it's like new, nice and shiny ,open to offers.......

Mine had the full Scoobysport (original & best) system? Why?

You had to be in the Scooby scene back then to fully appreciate what an iconic system this was.

The other one you've not mentioned is the Prodrive system or the TSL twin-pipe Group N stuff.

It's not all about sewage-pipe sized systems (although some of them do sound nice )

No brainer for me a Blitz nur spec was top of my shopping list not long after I pick up my scoob. Awsome sound - just ask my neighbours and a top class quality finish.

Another vote for the H&S Jap style back box. Such a big improvment over the standard Pea-shooter!

I have been out of the Subaru scene for a while now and I did have a new MY2000 at a stage and had a power engineering downpipe and a magnex centre and rear. I liked the sound of that set up, and although I didnt have one, I also liked the scoobysport systemat the same time. I dont really like a massive tailpipe, and if I can remember correctly the magnex had a 3" tailpipe at that time(which was just a fraction too small for my liking). There had been a 4" available for a while but they ceased production of it.

So basically dont want something too loud, and not too big. Thats about it really. All these names listed above are new in the scene since I had my last classic so dont know which to try.

Are scoobysport systems still available or not ? Or is H&S just the same thing under a new name ?

Many thanks to all those who have replyed so far !

I personally would have an HKS Hiper 409.
Might only be aluminised mild steel for the main pipework but with a stainless back box but the build quality is typical HKS.............top class.

Top Japanese styling, sound and performance gains at a lot less money than a Blitz which in my opinion are way too LOUD.
if you want a cheap HKS then Ralph Milsport can sort you out with free delivery as well.
The Scoobysport is now known as H&S as that is who made them for Scoobysport before they went under.
The HKS is not too loud, just a nice subtle burble without the need for earplugs.

Heres a quick video of my classic with a Blitz Nur Spec R. This still had the cat in place so it's even louder now without it.
Was taken on my phone so the quality isn't great, but you get the idea

The earlier ScoobySport was H&S. The later ones were Janspeed (not as good IMHO)

Hey guys, Just got my scooby a few week ago after finding the right one.

I also did not know what to go for but once i heard the Blitz Nur Spec-R, I knew it was the One.

I got mine proper cheap, searched everywhere but prices were around £540 and then found Storm Motorsport had them in stock at good price. Paid £470 plus £30 fitting all in.

There based in bradford but i know they do mail order too.

awesome sound with Bung out, Next is downpipe and manifold.

Cheers
scott

Wow.£357. Bargain

I searched all Mags, Websites and even Blitz Uk would not budge from the £550. retail price.

I wanted it straight away and did not want to wait however long it takes. Cant be arsed with the hassle of importing stuff. Done it before from germany when i had a audi and got sick of waiting and took ages in getting money back.

This way i get a lifetime Warranty with the exhaust from a UK shop. Guaranteed all the way.
Not sure if anyone else is cheaper over here though.

Thanks
Scott

I cannot believe that not many people use HKS exhausts??

I've had two hyper's now one on my fd3 rx the other was fitted to my old STi 4 for over 6yrs without issue, eventually i add the HKS closed neck down pipe (contrary to popular belief you can make good power with these mine was 380+) and HKS headers not cheap but unlike many people i never had any problems in 4 yrs with them.

Personally I'd use no other exhaust, great quality, great performance, great sound..
