Exclamation

The easiest way to stop these kind of threads is to ask a question on registration.

Since this particular breed of muppet(inaneus questionus) cannot actually answer a question, only reply with another set of questions then they would never be allowed in!

Other muppet types spring to mind

Maxus powerus
Characterised by my car is faster than yours type questions.

wrongus forumus rex
Insists on posting everything in the wrong forum(sounds like this post! )

The lesser spotted false celebrity
Latin name(notas famousas yous)
Characterised by posting under daft names who would not been seen dead on scoobynet.
Richard Burns being the most notable example.

searchus disablus.
This particular muppet has no concept of the search facility and so asks questions that were only asked a week ago.

Muppet-mon - gotta catch em all

Question

On a more serious note (Webmaster?/Moderators?) - is there any way of blocking/getting rid of people who continually annoy and disrupt other peoples use of Scoobynet?

It seems that more and more people seem intent on coming here to cause maximum disruption

Kelvin.

Neil,

Richard Burns a notable example of a false celebrity who wouldn't be seen dead on Scoobynet?

Webbie says he's 100% genuine. Not to sure about Colin McRae and David Richards though

Cheers
Lee

The easiest way to dissuade muppets its to ignore them. If nobody rises to the bait they'll get bored and go back to the Turkish Skoda Drivers forum.

I wonder just how many people would have looked at this thread if you had posted this in the Non scooby related section or the muppet section.
I personally don't think theres anything wrong with it.. alot of people only really have time to look/post in the general section like myself and I find that questions that i have get a response
e.g: such as an interior question not so long ago! - about aluminium interiors for scoobs and gps nav. I post in interior section and hear nothing, then I post in general section and get 5 replies. So i guess i fall into the above category and that makes me a muppet too? Nice one! I'd be interested in hearing webmasters views on it.
What a tiring day
Hos

Kelvin, Do i fall into that category that you have posted?

Agree with above - don't respond, person gets bored and goes elsewhere. Easy

The fascinating thing is the American BBS is going through a similar trauma at the moment.

Maybe it has something to with the ever increasing knowledge and popularity of the Impreza and the consequent "dumbing down" of the ownership.

Oh that last remark is not meant to be elitist in anyway rather a comment on an expanding audience and the widening of the "gene pool"

As long as theyre not being offensive, if you don't like some posts just ignore them. Whats the point of getting all high handed and trying to get people banned. The whole idea of the BBS is that people can say what they want (within reason). Have a look at the other thread about P1WR - most people don't have a problem with him and quite enjoyed his posts.

I can confirm that the Richard Burns post was indeed genuine.

The bloke was quite upset that you all thought it was a hoax.

Richard, Sorry to see Alex's post on i Club that you left I enjoyed learning from your posts; you'll be missed. In a way, Scoobynet and i Club are victims of their success; the more popular the Impreza becomes (and hence, Scoobynet and i Club), the more diluted the gene pool becomes.

Dont get me wrong guys....

I quite enjoy reading through the occasional "Muppety"/Annoying thread - find them quite entertaining! but recently it's gotten to the stage where the no. of these sorts of threads is getting a bit out of hand It seems that there are (in some cases) - more annoying threads than useful threads - just gets a bit annoying thats all! (that + bad day = reply like I did.... )

I was just wondering whether if it seems that a particular person seems intent on annoying others, they could be blocked by Moderators/Webbie thats all.

Hope I've explained myself! No offence intended to anyone - I'll get me coat now and shut up

Kelvin

PS - Hos - No you dont! (well - most days anyway - lol )
