Cars being doing this for a while now - whilst holding a steady throttle at say 2000-2500rpm the car seems to be hesitating and tends to be a bit jerky - also say in 4th with my foot to the floor it accelerate like buggery then it will stop for a split second - but it literally is like hitting a brick wall.
the other is a very intermittent idle - as if its gonna cut out (it doesn't)

I'm thinking my lambda sensor, or could be my MAF sensor (although this was replaced around 18 months ago)

Car is a MY99 classic - full decat, sti panel filter, resonator box removed, sti uprated fuel pump and a Andy Forrest remap.

Lambda sensor would be my guess mate.

Was your resonator box removed when you had it remapped?

Yes did all the mods before the remap.

could it be somethin as simple as dodgy plug or coil as i had a similiar prob on another car and it was a dodgy coil pack

 

Sounds like the Lambda mine did this on my MY99 UK Turbo.

Replaced it with a universal one from here :

I bought an AFR guage after i changed mine, it helps spot Engine/Lambda issues, definatly worth the pennies. (its already dianosed a weak fuel pump on mine)

Hope this works otherwise your prob gonna be down the dreaded MAF route.

Just a note,

This is a universal lambda, you will need to wire it in yourself as it will not come with a plug.

It only requires cutting the 3 lambda wires and connecting the new lambda wires maching the colours. (i used bullet connectors as soldering doesn't work well becuase of the high temp wire).
