Default charge air temp probe....... how to secure

Just recieved a maplins air temp kit, samples every second once a little soldering is carried out,has a external temp probe with a very generous amount of cable, ideal to mount inside the car with the probe in the intake hose after the intercooler. now im wondering how to secure the probe? should i just insert inside the hose and just tighten the clip up? or poke a hole in the hose, inser the probe and add some superglue to it to secure and hopefully make it airtight?.... what method has everyone else used for theres? seen a pick pickle posted ,of his inserted and glued... its not a wire probe end,has a bit much like a mini jack pug on a headphone lead, just slightly bigger

I drilled a 2mm hole in the hose, poked the wire probe through and dabbed some superglue over. No problem with leaks.
Sounds like the probe you have should be mounted on a jubilee clip around the hose, hole drilled through hose to push end of probe through and siliconed around area to seal.

What I used, was the valve tube off an old motor bike inner tube.Drilled a hole in the intercooler hose, pressed the Vv tube through the hole from in side so that the large base seals around the hose then screw the lock not down to seal it.Then you can pass your probe down the tube so that the end just protrudes into the air flow and seal with mastic.

What a bloody good idea. I've been wracking my brains for years trying to think of something like that. I''ve got a flat probe in my intercooler hose at the moment so it's no problem but I've used a Maplins probe for a year or so in another car at around 1 bar with no hassles.
