Default Clutch mystery

At the weekend, assumed my clutch was dead as it was slipping like a bitch in all gears after some hard launches. Have taken the car out this evening to read the clutch its last rites and all seems well did not try launching it but under normal to fair driving seemed just fine, even tried acellerating in 5th at 40mph but not even that caused the revs to shoot up, anyone have any ideas whats going on?

Did your clutch last long after that?

This happen to my rs turbo a few years ago at santa pod then i upgraded to an ap racing one and never had the problem again. It just gets to hot and fails to get any grip,a bit like brake fade when your pads get to hot.

Either that or the crank seal is leaking a bit of oil. Use it, it slips, overheats and burns off the oil. Next time you use it, its ok.

Usually happens after car has been standing for a long time though
