I'm planning to get rid off the stock air intake system including the maf sensor and turbo inlet hose. Samco turbo inlet hose is very expensive but I have heard that the perrin can be adapted to GC8 with some cuttings.

Anyway, what is the best way to keep it away from hot air? I have seen some setups the airfilters dropped into the front wing of the car. I need some fresh ideas may be I can work on a custom airbox and put another hood scoop or I can order Apexi Power Intake or Injen cold air intake. I'll be using 90mm Q45 MAF sensor so i think the rest of the system should be 90mm. Any ideas & pictures about this mod would be appriciated.

Cheers

After spending some time I finished my custom cold air intake setup. It is the imitation of APS Now it just needs some isolation in the front wing thats it!

90mm / 90 degree silicone elbow - 8 £ (I think some trucks use this large pipe)
90mm Q45 Maf Sensor - 45 £
90mm/76mm AVO Turbo inlet hose - 210£ (inc. shipping overseas)
K&N RU-3130 filter - 35 £
Maf Adapter tig weld - 3 £
Maf Adapter cnc cut - 3 £
Clamps - 3 £
Labour - 74 £

total: 381 £

Some pix

This the 90 degree elbow and maf adapter. I had drawn the adaptor layout in Adobe Illustrator and export it as Autocad.

This is the Q45 Maf vs. stock sensor. It is told to support 600 hp

The difference is amazing! I was not expecting that much. My injector duty jumped to %97 from %81 at 1.0 bar of boost. I also liked the sound =) I have installed the new PFR7Bs I wish I could also install the new injectors but they didnt fit

Now I need some new coilpacks or msd (missfire at idle), fpr, parallel fuel rails.
