Red face Parts stolen

To be more precise, my spoiler and ......front bumper !!!!!!

I don't wish to go into too much detail, but my scoob is having some work done to it by a reputable company. Over night it was being stored in a secure(ish) compound. Got a call this morning to informing me that during the night some ******* (allegedly) broke into afore mentioned compound and ripped my spoiler and front bumper off !!

Now, I am fully aware as to how easy it is to pull a spoiler off a boot lid, but an entire front bumper !!!!!

Anyone find this odd?
Anyone find this an amazing show of super-human strength?

Points to take into consideration:
1. The work being carried out was to the front bumper/P1 splitter and the spoiler !!
2. All the connectors for the electricals in both the bumper and spoiler are intact.
3. The day the spoiler and bumper were apparently completed and refitted was Friday, I can't be 100% certain but when I drove past on Saturday morning the car was spoiler-less and the front bumper and splitter were still in primer.

So, to recap, is it possible to rip a front bumper off a classic scoob?
I have my doubts.

they should be insured, if they don't make good the damage to Original condition and you get the work done that you paid for they could be in ****.

After talking to you yesterday about this Rob it doesn't suprise me. I trust that they are paying for replacements because the car is in their care?

Yup, he was most apologetic and said that although they are not responsible for any damage to any vehicle left in their care on this occasion he will supply and fit replacement parts foc. So in theory I should just get a bill for wheel refurbishment

PMSL......They've known since I booked it in with them that it has to be on the road and presentable no later than the 14th July 2006.
I have been assured it'll be ready. But then seeing as the parts have been ordered from DR Motorsport and Scoobyworld ready painted there should not be an issue

Irrespective of what the fool tells you he (or the company if incorporated) are absolutely responsible for your property whilst its in his care. Signs to the contrary or other nonsense wont affect this.

Had my spoiler stolen along with headlights, grill, PIAA's and sidelights damaged. Oh and add in the strip that runs over the roof of the car.

oh and just in case you were wondering how good their work is...

(no names have been mentioned so no libel action possible, but in the spirit of outing ****e workmanship, this is what they call "wheel refurbishing" )

From the front looks ok..yes?

Turn it over and wow !! what great work there lads
Notice the lovely silver drizzle marks over the gold...idiots

and no bead blasting, so you can see the bumps etc

when i argued that this was a terrible job, the boss said that people only want their wheels refurb on the fronts..what a load of ****e !!

oh and 2 weeks after i got them, the paint flaked off when i used a pressure washer on the wheels

DO NOT USE THEM FOR WHEEL REFURBISHING !!!!

This is exactly why I think there should be a section under the dealers bit, where we can "name and shame" SHYSTERS and bloody fleece merchants
But instead of getting into a debate about the legal side of it and as we all know SN wont entertain such an idea, then I suggest that we think of another site that can be constructed that has exactly all this available.

Sod it, if I get the time, I will make it myself.

I am fed up with people get shafted with crap service and I personally have wasted/lost money on bad workmanship...lets end it now

why not have public polls so you can see who voted and you can vote on the service you received. just have 3 options good, average, poor. At least that way you get a feel if people are happy using the place but no legal problems for SN

This is part of a PM that was in discussion with a moderator on exactly this subject.
Since SN are wary of libellous (sp) actions, probably due to past experiences, there would no movemnet on this request, hence the idea of setting a non related site that is independant but really sticks it to the dodgy places that try and pass off sub-standard service.

anyway below is my original idea..you will what i was trying to engineer

I think that there should be a section or somewhere like the dealers section, that outings and name and shame can be placed, without fear of libel action. some strict T&C's placed at the top. like in all other sections..something like You cant call such and such garage a **** just because you disagree with the work done, but you can explain your personal experience of a garge/dealer/etc good or bad and as long as it was written well and within the guidelines (moderating heaven me thinks), then it would be bloody useful to the community.

You are a mod, why dont you suggest it to the webby etc.

i mean, if there had been a section that had a post about how bad the ********* (denotes garage in question) were at wheel refurbing and how rude the owner, ****** is, then apart from the personal slant on that sentence, it would have saved rob a lot of grief, cos when he did a search for wheel refurb in ******, up would have come that report and if he didnt know me, he could PM for more details (all within the legal system..just like someone asking you personally what you think of a certain brand of trainers or a hotel etc) and i could PM him back.
that way it stays legal, no libel (cos the real meat of the name and shame is done by PM) and people on SN get warned off.
