1. What car/other mods?

2. Check fitting - are all hoses plugged in?

3. What fuel?

4. Any fault codes stored?

5. Faulty fitting can lead to early MAF failures from vibration.

Where is it slow to pick up - ie what RPM? The only thing I can think of is either failed MAF sensor due to fitting and vibration or it is running a bit lean because of MAF misreads - but IIRC this has only been a problem with APS versions of the K&N which sit in the wing and is still not fully worked out -see stepen Done's recent drivetrain thread - strange results after induction mods.
