There was an explanation within a thread sometime back, but it does specifically say 'no towing' with a P1.

Why would anyone with a P1 want to even consider towing anything???

Now if you want to tow with a scoob then you want one of them estate wagon things ...... like Pete Lewis has got... along with a caravan Pete??

josh/pete,

thanks, although why not i wonder???

steve,

i can only assume that someone with a P1 would want to tow something if the thing he wanted to tow was to big to put on the back seat...

Well in that case..... why not use a roof rack?? (being serious for a moment...).

Roofrack is great for bikes, but no good for a caravan....

I think I will go back to the muppet forum now, shouldn't be out on my own

Tiggs,

You're most welcome.

I wish I could be more help but, as I said, there was a thread that went into the reasons that it's prohibited, but I'm afraid that I can't remember.

It's a shame Mr Lewis can't be more helpful, other than making the rest of us look more intelligent.

Apparently clutch would be marginal because of he high level of torque if you put something on tow .

PS Lewis, As far as I can see the best reason for having a P1 is so that no one can ever mistake you for PS Lewis.

this is for a motorbike trailer which my 5 yr old can push round the driveway fullyloaded so (while it wont go on a roof steve ) it should be fine to tow- pity the P1 has no facility

Mr Lewis, is it me or have most of your post latley been rather sensible, even this one was far from daft???

I think it was something to do with the type approval on the P1, could be wrong though
