Personally i think the car looked good in the flesh, the prodrive mods looked well but it needs a bigger boot spoiler!
The mods were cosmetic and only went as far as a back box on the tuning side.
The new WRC looked AWESOME

Full upgrade kit as seen on the Prodrive one looked good but should do for 3K. Front and rear lower spoilers seemd to make a big difference and the 17" wheels seems to fill the arched far better with the standard 16s looking a little lost.

Std seat were OK but the high backs ones were far nicer.

Brakes seemed to be same as MY00

At first I hated it, but these pictures are pretty good do you agree ? Blue/Gold - superb !

Even the headlights seem to be looking ok :O

But - the interior looks poor IMHO. Never did like black dials and the circular vents look like from my old Mk 2 Cortina :O

Centre section of interior looks ok but not impressed with the rest.

What on earth is the 4th pedal left of the clutch for ?

Saw the car yesterday adn I must say I was dissapointed. If you go and see it, have a look at the new one and then go and have a look at the P1 in the ICE Village - I know which one I would buy.

Shame really as the 2001 was starting to grow on me - I hope it drives better than it looks as I would have to be really blown away to buy one.

We were guests of Subaru but our passes would not get us into the hostesses only room

What is it with Subaru and big steering wheels?

The one on the MY01 seems bigger than ever.

 

White numbers on black dials. Is that the retro look?

Still got the fog lamp switches hidden out of the way I see.

Still a stonking motor though eh?

Imprezas are getting so common, I saw eight of the MY01 style on the back of a transporter on the M62 westbound yesterday evening.

Not one of them waved or flashed their lights!

 

The MY01 is definitely growing on me - but it has still only moved from fugly up to ok with shades of pretty nasty. The rear end is still not very pleasant, but the front looks better than what I recall seeing before.

 

Urrrghhhh. Slightly better. Only due to the blue and gold.

Subaru should have done what Ford did with the Focus and Escort. Sell the old and new together. Let the people decide what they want. If they only wanted the Classic style then discontinue the new one or facelift it.
