MPG from a MY93 Classic
Hi guys & girls,
How is everybody on this fine morning?!?!?!?!
Yeah....been in work since 7am so I'm not so good either!!!!!
Anyway....I have just bought my first Scooby and I was wondering what sort of MPG people get out of theirs?? I get about 300km out of a tank from driving around town, not on the motorway. Does that sound about right to you guys?? I think it's running a bit rich too, no idea how to sort that out cos I'm used to having carbs!!! Any ideas???
Any help would be much appreciated, cheers guys

andy, i get about 350-400km on a full tank.
50% booting it/ 50% cruising !!!
ps: had mine a month now and its more like 80% booting it, 20% cruising now

no idea mate, worth taking it to a specialist to get it checked over (£70.00 or so.)
worth it for safety reasons, and peace of mind!!
i wouldn't **** about with anything you are unsure of, they are complicated bits of kit (just do a search for MAF sensor on google, and see alone what just this componet does!!!)
my advice is to take it to a specialist!! - thats what i did.
get them to compile a list of things they regard need doing in the near future, prioritise these, put them in a diary, and budget for them.
ie: if they say interim service 3 months, cam belt in 10 months, brakes 6 months etc.....
that way there "shouldn't" be too may unexpected things to shell out for.

Good idea mate...I'll do that. I was thinking about taking it to Power Engineering for a check actually. My mate told me they check the engine all over thoroughly, then check the bhp & torque etc on the rollers and give you a print out. Might be worth doing just to check the condition of the engine etc.
