I'm still looking for an Sti ppp (MY53ish). Isn't it hard to find a decent one !!

Anyone got some fuel figures for the ppp, compared to the standard Sti. Does the extra power make much difference to the mpg.

From MY05 STi PPP I get between 17-20 MPG

 

As low as 16mpg (German Autobahn), to almost 26mpg (A1M/M1 crawl). Most weeks it averages 19-20mpg. Can't expect more really, considering the performance.

I think I can live with that - Just !!

Optimax is almost up to £1 in my area.

Worst I ever had with my wrx was 15mpg, best was 28mpg. Not to dissimilar.

It must be hard to keep the right foot off the fast pedal !!

If your worried about the mpg you cant afford the car ..... or shouldnt buy it at least .... IMHO

 

agree as the servicing \ oil changes \ incurance \ tyres all add up to allot more than the mpg

BUT , found with my scoob that the harder you play the more you pay

 

Now i've worked out that my samsung d500 does american gallons to litres not metric gallons my fuel consumption has gone up from a scarey 15 to an amazing diesel like 20.......ish....... which has now stopped some of my mates taking the **** as ' aren't ferrari's and lambo's more econamical than yours?' have (slightly) died down....Optimax is 100.9 at my local....ah the joy of seeing a higher monetry reading than litres....

 

Even if I can't afford it I will have to try, even if I have to sell the wife !!

I've got to get it out of my system (mid life crisis, me thinks). Just so I can say I have had one, and experienced that acceleration, handling, etc.

Don't know if your partners are the same, but she hates me having a decent car. The lies I have to tell:

Tyres, they were only £50 each, that's a bargain.
The service was cheap compared to some cars.
I don't know why the fuel gauge goes down so fast, it must be faulty.
Of course I love you more than the car.

I got about 10mpg from my non-PPP STi unless it was a long run and was taking it easy in which case I saw about 20mpg. I have heard it reported that the PPP increases your mpg so you might even do better than this with it and that seems to be supported by those posting on this thread. So, tell the wife you need the PPP to keep the fuel consumption down, seems like a good line to me.

The last trip that i actually measured the fuel consumption for took almost exactly 10 gallons and i covered 98 miles. It is as near 10mpg as makes no difference and fits with previous measurements and the sort of intervals between filling up i was getting when not making specific measurements. I did know a bloke who was getting about 7mpg but his wasn't standard.

While that was on a "good" run it must be said that i doubt if i was getting much more than 10mpg on short runs to town when the car was cold. But 10mpg is possible in a standard one of that i have no doubt.

Well 80 miles on 12 gallons is about 7mpg which is a lot less than the 10 i would see when driving hard so there is a significant difference. Although i've seen 10ish not infrequently i've never seen 9mpg or less. I also think it highly unlikely that i am the only one seeing similar figures. It also helps that i have some very good roads only a short distance from home, this short distance just happens to be about an ideal warm up/cool down distance and the petrol station is only 200 yards from my door so most of the figure is fun driving rather than others who might be seeing similar figures only they have a longer boring run to get to the good roads which makes their figures look better.

The cold car in town situation is clearly different and i don't have a measured figure for that but i don't estimate it to be much more than 10mpg for short runs.

I'm not sure it is an absolute speed thing, it just seems that some roads have the right combination of conditions to suck the fuel. I know where it all goes to as well: up in smoke from the brakes :-)

 

i'm looking at getting a 05 sti with ppp and reading this started to scare me untill i remembered at the mo i've got a shogun 3500 gdi auto then subaru's seem quite economical!!!!

 

I managed 108 miles out of 1/4 tank on my 03 TSL333, driving @60 on the motorway, that would work out over 400 miles out of a tank, i was very shocked.

 

The first 1/4 of a tank actually equates to about 1/2 the full tank ..... It goes down the rest of the way very very quickly.......

 

Fill up about 48-50 litres every time and run about 200miles.
Gives 18ish MPG

MY05 Sti standard.

I know i didn't buy it for it's fuel consumption, but 10mpg

My 18mpg is around town, and easily goes up when i travel any great distance via Motorway or A roads.

Might have to get PPP if it increases full consumption ( if it wasn't back up to £2k )

15 - 18mpg ot of MY05 STI PPP.

Never get above 18, no matter how long the drive, or how slow I drive. 15mpg is average, but take it out for a good blast for an hour or so, and I get a lot less.

 

standard commute 20 -21mpg max, German toll road 7mpg. The petrol pump is just a blur of numbers tbh, hand a card over to pay & back in a few days
