Just been looking under the bonnet and notices leaves collecting on the intercooler. Anyone found a good solution to this problem?- I though Gaffer tape over the bonnet scoop might work!!!

Highly complex bit of kit required to rectify this problem.... although cost is minimum. When you have the bonnet open, you can use your hands to remove said leaves!! I personnally use my right hand (left I keep clean for other ‘cheap’ duties).

Hope this is of some help

To save on gaffa tape you could drive in reverse........

ScoobyJawa, don't forget if you mesh the front of the scoop, you'll lose approx. 2.7776% of the airflow across the intercooler, plus the air will be more turbulent and less effective at cooling so you'll need to knock back boost pressures by, ooooh, 0.35psi (not serious, but can't remember how to drop in the smilies)

I was looking under the bonnet this morning and noticed several leaves were in the intercooler. After reading this thread yesterday I decided to give My Hands a go a cleaning them out. Well, what can I say!! They were fantastic!! In no time at all My Hands had cleaned all the leaves out and the intercooler was now back to it's free-flowing self. I can not recomend My Hands enough.

PS. I have no connection to My Hands, just recomending a good product

lol@nimbus.

Brickboy - if you think mesh is bad was gonna recommend knocking up an MDF spacer to fit in there

Cool

Additional to those proposed above, here are some more effective methods of eradicating these pesky leaves...try the following:

1/ Put it in the Garage (if you don't have one...buy one. If no room go to option2)
1/ Get a car Cover
2/ Dig all the trees out in your vicinity (make sure you completely de-root them otherwise they may grow back!)
3/ Leave your car in the Dead centre of your local Supermarket car park (mind the trolleys = door dents)
4/ Move house to somewhere like Milton Keynes
5/ Sell the car

Jacko (couldn't help jumping on the bandwagon)

How about avoiding autumn altogether by travelling continuously around the world in a prodominantly northerly or southerly direction thereby following a more desirable season such as summer.
