A smashed head light is leading me in the direction of replacing with Morette's. Anyone got experince / pictures of Morette's fitted to a P1.

Info would be greatly appreciated.

Just fitted Morettes to P1 today and just been out to try them.
Good news and bad news. Bad news is dip is about as appalling as standard. I think the beams are set up ok but just lack intensity - you still have to lift off when meeting traffic on a road without cats eyes. Good news main beam are at least 50% better than standard with more distance and a much better spread. If dip beam was better it would improve the whole thing. I'll try some uprated bulbs tommorrow. If thats no good I'll try adjusting them. The kit is quite easy to fit but a sod to adjust.

Try uprating your H4 bulbs! I use Phillips Vision Plus bulbs in my Morettes and the improvement is huge! I got mine from http://www.powerbulbs.com

I got them next day after ordering on the internet at 3pm. No connection with the company, just a very quick reliable service, I've used them several times and I'm always happy with the prices and service!

Hope this helps

Thanks Andy. Have ordered some now. Do you have an opinion on the P1 spotlights? I haven't tried adjusting them yet but they seem to flood the near to middle ground which would be ok if the Morettes had a bit more range. Hoping bulb change will help.

I might re-wire them to operate as fogs.

NBS,

The bulbs for the outer lamps are H4's, the bulbs for the inner lamps are H3's but I haven't found a need to uprate those!

Personally I would take off your spotlamps (but keep them for when you come to sell the car) and replace them with standard Impreza foglamps. I use to have P1 lamps on my car, but I couldn't get them to give anywhere near the ames amount of light as the standard foglamps, so I ended up going back to them.

Hope this helps
