Nope. It's just that I actually felt bored in mine today, don't reckon I can hack another 12 months to be fair. Need a change, won't be buying new again cos that hurt last time, but don't want to change for a "lesser" model. Reckon I have paid me dues, time for a full fat version

Took a P1 out for a blat a few months ago, took it back, hammered out a deal, paid me deposit and I'd phoned the dealer before I entered the second roundabout to cancel. It wasn't different enough or nowhere near as brutal as mine It was unmodded to be fair but from behind the wheel it just wasn't different enough. It looked fantastic from the outside as they do, but the inside was just the same as mine without the gauges and when all said and done, I preferred the driving experience in mine. My heart did the deal and my head (and Ame ) cancelled it
STi8 though, feels different enough to justify the cost, I'm 36 and I can honestly say, I've been there and done that as far as having a loud, brash, overt scoob is concerned.
A nice clean, black example with silver wheels, flaps and tints (and obviously the "proper" spoiler) with a warm sounding exhaust. that's the one for me I think ****** off to get slippers and small dog to curl up on his lap*

I've been extremely happy with mine (53 reg STI Type UK) and have had it for nearly a year. Indeed, the only thing I don't like about it is the depreciation, which I have to say has been much worse than I expected...

The running costs, insurance, mpg, etc - none of that stuff has been any worse than I anticipated, but I guess you're used to those factors anyway.

I can't think of any reasons for you not to buy one, especially now that the depreciation must surely be slowing down. I can't see the Seat-style latest revision being any more popular than the bugeye in the long run, so the blob eye may well hold its value a bit better in years to come.

Having said all that, I do think that P1's and 22B's are gorgeous...

Why don't people worry about depreciation when they buy a washing machine?

Because a washing machine doesn't cost in excess of £20K, that's why!

Unfortunately not. It's the usual boring(!) Subaru blue, only mod's are flaps, backbox and recoated black/chrome alloys. There are quite a few newage STI's (and WRX's) in Ingleby, but not many classics, strangely enough...

its not a 2.5

might be worth test driving a 2.5 as if they are still making the impreza in 3 years time will prices of the 2 litre be hit

don't get mne wrong, I ve never been in a 2.5 but if i was buying now think it would be top of my list

I'm not, just fancy a change but don't want to leave scoobies. Want to drive a more refined hooligan
Hmmm White wheels on a black car Could be onto something there and as for the flame kit, it only takes half hour to fit
Also was thinking of scoobydoo heads in STi pink on the wing mirrors

STi PPP in black - how about black wheels? With tints, it could be the total stealth look.
Not sure about pink Scooby Doo heads though...

You'll always have the nagging doubt that you should have bought a JDM car instead

Washing machines are considerably cheaper, and you're not as likely to want to trade it in for a new model ?

Thumbs up

Hello chaps,

I've been off the forum for quite some time and now back because its time for a change of vehicle... from my beloved classic to a new shape.

I'm after a MY03 STi preferably with PPP and not in WR Blue. In fact I want the one in the pic above. If the owner wants to sell please get in touch.

I'll post in the wanted section as well.

Sorry to hijack the thread... but I can't think of any reason why you shouldn't buy an STi8 (MY03)!
