what psi should a standard wrx import run? and is it safe to turn it up? i have got a mate who has one! and he has a boost controller, just wondered what it can safely run!

 

hiya mate, i have a 1995 wrx import, have to mention first that I am a complete novice with scoobies but when i bought mine it was running 16psi (ish) but its was terrible, i think i either had massive overboost problems or the fuel cut was kicking in around 4 -5rpm....just turned it down to 12 psi and she is driving perfectly...again im no expert (for that matter not even a novice yet lol) but just sharing my experience with boost levels

 

anyone else got an opinion?

 

mine ran 15 psi with a fuel cut defencer fine and 18 psi with a chip/map on standard injectors
