Default Which DV on MY06 WRX?

Just wondering if anyone has fit an aftermarket dump valve to an 06 wrx as yet.

I have ordered a Bailey DV12 as recommended by bailey themselves but am a bit dubious of they're info, as when a supplier of min checked they got a different response.

cheers

Alan

there is no "recommended" VTA dump valve for an impreza really mate....the bailey will do the job if you want the noise but thats about it.

The intercooler it bolts to is different than MY01-05 models.... the DV looks about the same tho, wouldn't like to say for sure it will definately fit.

The OEM DV is the best option tho. VTA tyres with the cats still in the exhaust is NOT the way to go!

Basically VTA DVs cause the misture to run slighty rich on lift off compared to a recirculating version (like the standard one). If you have a full decat this causes the car to pop and bang on over run.... however it's not a good idea with a cat'd exhaust as it won't like that at all.

It's your choice but £120 on something that does nothing for the car but make it go pssst is a complet waste. Get one of those things that they fit to Corsas and Novas that make the noise electronically when the throttle is lifted if you like that sort of thing. The McDs massive will love that

TBH that is the only reason I want one, the Pssst, I didn;t realise there were other reasons.

Well it's a choice of having a psssst noise or an engine that actually runs right... i know which i'm choosing for the MY06 sat on my drive. It's up to you but that £120 could go towards a set of Prodrive springs, set of PFF7 wheels..... something that actually does something useful.
