Question Deliberate Omissions from RA2 database?

Had a chat with the owner of a Road Angel 2 at the weekend - the driver had just updated the unit and went through a Gatso but not a peep came out of it.

When he rang RA2 to ask about it (the camera is only a few months old) to see if another update would sort it out.

The person he spoke to told him that the camera site was on the system but it didn't show up beacause "that camera is too profitable"

WTF?

I can only assume that the database is updated once the mad rush of people getting caught out dies down - but what use is a detector that doesnt flag up the cameras that are most likely to catch you out?

So, it sounds like Blackspot are having a trade off with the authorities?

I can imagine the conversation...

Blackspot: "We'll leave off a few cameras (at your request) and you'll stop trying to get a law passed to make the GPS safety camera warning units illegal"

Authorities: "That is perfect. By the way, where is the free holiday this year?"

Blackspot: "I know this lovely place, but it might not show up you map."
