Default decat - economy throught the floor

Had a full decat done the other day on my blob eye.

I have already had a TEK 2 done which saw the fuel economy go from about 260 miles per tank to 300+, on having the decat, it's dipped down to about 250 miles

This might not seem a big deal for most people but my commute is 120 miles round trip a day so it's not good.

I don't want smart alec remarks like 'well you should have thought of that' and 'your mapper is crap, knee cap him'

I just want to know whether anyone else has experienced this and does anyone think there is a underlying prob. Oh, and my right foot has not got heavier either

Might need remapping again with the decat. You have a much more free flowing system which effectively puts less stress on the engine. Fuel economy should improve when driven like a ***** cat. Might it not just be that you are enjoying the extra horses and putting your foot down???

I would certainly have it remapped as you've made a chage to the system.

If you still have problems with increased economy have a diognostics check
done.

Get A Tek 3 done - that way everything will be set up for your car.

Although with my Tek 3 and only upipe cat I'm happy to get 220 miles from a tank.....

err I can easily get 240 miles from a tank (normally fill up at 1/4 left stage, trip showing 225 ish miles) and that with my daily commute to work stop start in traffic followed by booting it on A roads - 16 miles in total per day. Blob eye with decat up and centre, sports cat downpipe,

Richard

Isn't a TEK 2 a generic map?

Maybe you should, as previously said go for a TEK 3.

That will be mapped for your car & driving style.

FWIW A decat downpipe, vf35 and Zen re-map has improved my fuel economy on my MY99, it's also a lot quicker when it needs (read I want it) to be.
