Is there any performance package available for the p1?
I know there are a few things available, like the rear box, brakes bigger wheels etc. But is there a decat downpipe and other "performance" goodies available?

 

yes, but not supplied by poordrive.

Any aftermarket old shape downpipe will ift and will make one heck of a difference.

 

P1 not quick enough for you ????

I understand the new MY01 STI 7 is quicker if you want an upgrade

I dont think so.

Magazines saying it feels as quick, do not count as accurate.

factually is a strong word jza,

sti 7 is a great car, but just because you have a my01 doesnt make it faster than the sti2,3,4,5 or 6.

I have seen one review that said it felt as quick.

I have seen several tests which show the wrx to be slwoer than the turbo.

If you take the new engine to pieces you will see it has tumble generators in the intake ports, designed for economy and emissions, not power. Fact is,(figure of speach - the car is equally firm to the touch as it always has been) the new car has gone soft.

wasnt meant to be a p1 versus sti thread!
since im here though, isnt the new shape uk sti underpowered to the jap spec sti, the same as the wrx is underpowered compared to the jap one.

The only reason im interested in more power mods is cause im greedy. I was rearended by a 17 year old orion driver last week and amongst the damage was a twisted mongoose exhaust i had on there. I want to change it for another performance one and wondered if prodrive sold a full exhaust system as the standard one is as quiet as Harpo with larangitus.
