Any 1/4 mile run problems/issues and times!?!
Morning all
I'm going to the Fastshow at the Pod on 26th March and am thinking about taking my car up the strip.
My question is, have any Scoob owners here had or seen any breakages on an Impreza?
When there last year I saw a guy in a Crysler Neon (few engine mods) shear his engine mounts
due to the stress going through his car on a freshly glued start line.
I have taken my old car up the strip (200 bhp Prelude 2.2 VTEC) but that was FWD.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Also, if anyone has any times they have run, I'd be interested to know what your running and what car you've got

If you're running an OE clutch that is going to be the most likely to let go on a std or lightly modded car.
I fried an old OE clutch on a lightly modded uk classic (13.4s).
Gearbox broke when driven very hard on the road with 340/340, although ultimately the damage and wear was done on the strip.
The heavier the mods the greater the chance of something going wrong.
The vast majority of scoob owners dont have any issues on the day.

One previous owner for 45k and he only ever had 2 sets of tyres on the car, with enough tread left for me to run on for a year!
It genuinely wasn't driven hard for the first 4 years and I have driven it with respect since I've had it.
As far as I know the clutch is still strong!
As long as I don't dump the clutch at 5k and feed it slightly then at worst I'll smell a little off the line.
Thanks for the info (pretty much what I thought / was hoping for)

You're welcome.
Check your levels before the day and drop tyre pressures if you struggle for grip. Make sure the I/C is cold before the off.
Let us know how you get on.
