I thought that, but then I got to wonder if the cops were in one of those bugeyes at that point? The way they accelerated behind the Evo looked too slow to be a Scoob. I wondered if they were in that Golf that was in the programme later on??

220bhp vs 300bhp though, wouldn't expect them to keep up.

And the WRXs are over 3 years old now... the Audi that was on it for a few mins might have kept up a bit better

I doubt whether plod would've had a bog standard bugeye WRX, surely would've been tinkered with, at least with PPP and running ~260bhp?

It should've had a decat and remap, then it might have kept up with the FQ300.......

Is it old footage or do Manchester plod have 2/3 year old cars?

One thing that really p1ssed me off on the program is that you see genuine coppers trying their upmost to make a difference, doing their jobs and catching theese theiving ******* and what happens they get to court and get a joke of a fine. The bloke with the stolen 4x4 in his lock-up what did he get ?? a fr1gging £200 fine. Lets face it you could easilly get that speeding on a deserted motorway at night.

Agreed. We all hear the stories of 35 in a 30, small numberplate etc, but it was good to see REAL policemen actually making a difference.
That £200 fine was a joke though, he could make that back by selling the other stolen parts in the garage!!!

Have to laugh - even on this thread comes a "no way an scoob could be left behind that much by an Evo".

Talking

Don't forget the police officers have to consider the safety of the public whereas the crims couldn't give a ****e who they hit/kill whilst trying to escape.

Sometimes it's in the public interest to back off - like with the 3 lanes to one motorway chase with the blue renault kangoo van.

Good program, second the disgust at the measly sentences

Im not saying a WRX could hope to stay with an EVO but for the record that chase didnt involve the bugeye's. Anyone who knows scoobs could tell that from the dash.

The chase car and the lights on the roof going as well so it was probably the volvo T5.

You have to add in the desperation factor as well - the thieves have a much stronger reason to get away than the police do to catch them - I appreciate the coppers do want to nab them, but not by putting themselves at risk or the public. Plus its not the thieves car, so they dont care if they damage it.

When you see the way some of these car thieves drive when pursued I think its more luck than driving skill that more dont get killed.

It was an Impreza police car in that pursuit. You can see the bonnet scoop, the seats, the interior features of the car.
