As above, I've spoken to my local tuning place and they've not fit one yet, without looking they couldn;t say which would fit.

Which should I get? and are they as easy to fit as the older models?

The one it left the factory with works fine

Having test drove two, I';ve not heard it dump. I like the noise. . So I'm guessing I want a loud one.

 

it wouoldnt surprise me if they havent changed the dump valve deisgn from the other newage's. Is it still on the intercooler? if it is im sure any 01+ would fit....

 

standard dump valves tend not to be as efficient as aftermarket ones. By this i mean that the aftermarket bovs such as hks svq,ssqv, blits dualdrive etc prevent compressor surge. With an aftermarket bov an improvement in spoolup should be noticed.....

 

That's a bit of contradiction, HKS blitz and the like are generally VTA dump valves that don't open all that easily, which is why they tend to improve response, but they generally make part throttle problems worse. I would NOT recommend a VTA dump valve with the factory ECU and the MAF sensor. If you must fit one, both the HKS and Blitz seem to be okay when mapping, ie they don't leak on light throttle causing leanness, and leak on low boost causing richness.

I would stick with re-circ as per the factory, if you want noise, the recent forge re-circ valves seem to make a fair noise, but otherwise work very well.

Generally the factory valve works very well on the later cars.

there are re-cirulating kits available for the ssqv, as for opening easily, they both can be adjusted to suit.

 

The forge one sounds interesting and most sensible, if it lessers the chance of performance drops, but gives me the noise I'm after.

Where can I purchase one online? I'll worry about fitting when I get the car

 

MY06 with DV = warranty out the window. If your going to throw it away at least do some decent power mods.

yes, you shouldnt have to modify anything to fit it

 

Indeed, but if they open easily, they cause problems unless recircing. I have mapped about 6-7 cars with the HKS, none were installed with the re-circ kit. But if you read my post, you will see that they are one of the VTA valves I would go for. The bailey valve on the other hand is a nightmare, get to about 3500 on cruise, and you can hear it starting to leak and watch the AFR go from about 14:1 to 9.7:1 as it pisses all the air out the MAF has lovingly measured for you!
