Default Whats the Turbo on a Type R ........

good for its a Version 6? Seriously thinking of a GTR 33 and getting a 34 when i can afford one. On the other hand do i try and get some decent power out of my Scoob. I really dont want to start changing Turbos though.

You'll need 400 in a Skyline to beat a Scoob with 330

THINK ABOUT IT!

On a standard bottom end, 1.4 bar tops, maybe 1.35, tailing off to around 1.1 / 1.2 at the red line.
Obviously that depends on your mods and stuff

strange? my 98 sti is boosting at 1.2bar constant?? Standard exhaust with all cats in place, no boost controller and a standard ecu? theres an uprated panel filter but i couldnt see it give such gains?

Errm, Bob Rawle was perfectly happy with that (it is what he mapped it for)! And, not be mistrusting of your abilities, but I trust his opinion more than yourself

I thought received wisdom was that 1.3 bar was as high as you want to take them from a safety perspective

Si are you on the original engine still ?

I have been reading good things about the 2.3 conversion or if you want to know about a 2.5 conversion have a talk with Simb he will be able to enlighten you on the original strenghs as well as he has looked right through all the areas

I know that's not what you asked but it's interesting stuff never the less.
In all this time this is the very first time I have heard you talk about power... I need to go and have a sit down here

Si

Prodrive have mapped the VF35 turbo in the WR1 to 1.4 bar. Have any WR1 owners experienced turbo failures yet?

There is a skyline just round the corner from you Simon. Why dont you see if the guy will take you out for a spin. Might be all it takes to help you one way or the other?

When you get bored of that, come see me and we can talk money on one of my cars

He wants something he can bring out in all weathers instead of peering through the curtains waiting for the sun to come out
