Thumbs up Roomba - Robotic vacuum cleaner

Not having a clue what to buy my wife for Xmas, I settled on one of these

http://www.irobot.com/sp.cfm?pageid=122

Bit of a gamble....but got to say, a month later - what a cracking bit of kit Not been this impressed with something for a long while.

Our old Electrolux upright vacuum cleaner has hardly been out of the cupboard since (maybe twice).

Come down in the morning, switch Roomba on, leave it to do drive itself around hoovering and it goes back to his station and charges when done.

If you're looking for a new vacuum cleaner anytime soon, go get yourself one of these

Starts from £300 (think ours was £350 from Empire)

As I mentioned, we have the lawnmowing equivalent. Lawn used to take an hour or so with a 30in tractor mower. It now takes the daily stroll out of the back door, flick a switch, and stroll back in. And once we get the timer sorted, it'll be on in spring and off in winter

Yep - does the lot. Navigates around objects, under our DVD cupboard (which an unpright cant get to) and drives itself to the station when its low on charge.

Was seriously thinking about the lawn version after this one.
