I hope I haven't got the wrong username, and I also apologise if this has already been posted, I did a search and couldn't find anything.

This has been taken from the FFOC forum where Chris was an active member, known as MY02Focus, but he also owned a pretty nippy Scooby too and I've spoken to him on here.

I have asked Ian to inform me when he know's what the funeral arrangements are and I will post them here.
Chris will be sadly missed within the region and our thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Very sad news

I used to live round the corner from Chris and he gave me a lift in his Scooby to my first ScoobyNet meet.

{Edit}

Yes Focusbird, he posted as "chrisp" and had mean a member of SN since February 99 (IIRC)

That's a big shock, I met Chris in the very early days of S'net when he still had his red MY98, bought about the same time as mine, but he barely put miles on it...as I would often remind him whenever we met, and the same could be said of it's replacement. He was a larger than life character (in so many ways) but always seemed cheerful both in his posting style and out in the real world.

Like everyone else my thoughts are with his family at this time, he will be greatly missed.

Chris was the first person off Scoobynet I ever spoke to face to face. Met him at a trackday at Donnington first, then at other Scooby meets over the years. He seemed to know just about everybody on Scoobynet back in the earlier years of the BBS. He was a great guy and always took a genuine interest in people and their cars.

Very sad to hear of his passing. My condolences go to his family and friends.

This is absolutely devastating news.

Chris was also one of the first people I met on scoobynet in real life, before I owned it.

Such a lovely guy, and a man of integrity too.

We should do something special as a community having lost one of our old friends.

Can people please post pictures of Chris and his cars in here please.

Rest In Peace chrisp

Simon

I hope it's not out of order but if and when they find out the cause of death could you please let us know. My reasoning is that if it's something we can raise awarenes of then it is the least we can do.

I knew him too from the Staffs meets and he worked around the corner from where I did. He'd often see me fly past in my old silver wrx, I'd be busy drooling at his v-ltd sitting in the car park when he used to bring it in.

I kept asking him every meet if I could have bits off his car, but he'd always say no.

I have a feeling that any pictures I had of him were lost when my last HDD crashed.

An absolute gentleman and a great person, I am very shocked and saddened to hear of this. My thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.

RIP Chris, we'll miss you.
