Little Problem !!!!

Default Little Problem !!!!

Been out and about today in my my06 wrx when i got back checked the engine and noticed green sticky fluid over the engine, which is quite worrying cause still running her in. Any ideas anyone ????

No need to worry The entire car is coated in the stuff before shipping from Japan. It is designed to protect the car from salt and other contaminants. Apparantly it is removed using a superheated jet of water and parafin on the dock side! There is always some residue left on the engine.

Cheers mate, its horrible gunky stuff. Never noticed it before mind you the engine was quite warm today. There just seems to be loads of it. Was a bit of a shock when i first saw it !!!

No problem, if you really want to clean it off, then an engine cleaner should do the trick.

Does keep your engine looking good though, cleaned mine off last year & after 3 years the engine bay still looks brand new
