hoping to purchase a p1 very soon
but with all the scary stories i have read recently about the p1 (and type r) bottom ends going what precautions would be advised.
yeh, dont drive it is a good idea, or even better idea dont let the missus drive it
. the car in question is a 2000 reg, full ssh, 27k,and has had oil changed as per instructions. the car has not been tracked or ragged sensless and no mods, its a gem. (its me mates car). is there anything that can be done to preserve the mechanics..... uprated oil pump,? remap ? knocklink? im no techy, and have read mixed views. any veiws appreciated, technical, sarcastic, funny, informative, bring em on

my personal feeling is that the mapping of the car is the weak link in an otherwise good car. I would get a tek 3 remap on it. if you are considering any mods get them done at the same time.
