The noise of that dump valve would drive me insane, sounds like something sniggering under the bonnet

also why would someone say "...get your head down..." would it be so their peaked caps didnt fly off in the wind as they accelerated (assuming that is was really a cabby and they had the top down)

Have to say though that I would imagine that Escort has probably had a shed full of cash spent on it in order to be able to out-accelerate an Impreza. The Impreza looks like a UK/EU car (being Sonic Blue) and I would say is probably standard or with very few mods.

If you chuck enough money at something of course it will go faster.

As for racing, well I'd be amazed if none of us on here haven't been guilty of it at some point. And although I'm not a lover of Ford or indeed of the lads in the Escort, it was the Impreza that undertook the right hand cars first. (having seen it again the right hand car is turning but still both drivers being naughty )
