Default Prodrive to TSL Ti-phoon backbox

Just thinking out loud at the mo, what would the noise difference be by changing the backbox on my STi PPP to a TSL Ti-phoon? Like the sound from the Prodrive but fancy something noisier Maybe anyway.....And the Ti-phoon looks pretty good too.

Cheers

Default exhaust

the tsl back box sounds great not the firestorm one though the 4'' tail pipe and 3'' bore one. Its on offer at the minute for around £160. Its not too loud or too quite.

I have a 04 sti ppp and have had a ti-phoon bb & TSL center on my car which i have run for over a year with no problems.
The noise is a lot deeper and is very loud at high revs, but if you keep the revs low in town (4th gear)its not to bad.I live in a village and have had no complaints yet.
The noise inside the car is not a great deal noiser then the ppp,I often open the windows just to listen to it.

im guessing the Ti-phoon, firestorm and group N are very different exhausts .

whats the difference between them??

Quick question from a stupid person. Is changing the back box detrimental to performance ? I thought exhausts such as the PPP exhaust were matched to new ECU-map ?

I have got this setup on my 05 Sti ppp but with the firestorm. The sound is phenomenal. IMO it's how the ppp should sound from the start

Just changing the back box won't have a detrimental effect on performance, all it will do is alter the sound. If you were to change the ppp cat you MAY lose power if the ecu is not remapped to suit.

Thanks for the resposes guys, I'm not planning on changing the centre section just the backbox, will I still get the nice deep (& louder) sound by just changing the backbox or is the new centre section necessary?

I just had a vortex backbox on my car before changing to my current setup and it made a much nicer (louder) deeper burble over the standaqrd ppp item. If you really want to up the volume then change the centre(remove resonator).

I only changed 1 part of the centre which is not changed with the ppp.
And left the 2nd part and downpipe in place.

Does anyone kknow if someone selling a 2nd hand Ti-phoon. I've been posting in the classified, checking ebay and SIDC for a couple of months but they don't seem to come up for sale?
