it shouldnt do it "un modified", not entirely sure what a zero sports wrx is though?

i would have thought that the standard car wouldnt boost much about 1 bar (14.7psi....so say 16 for arguments sake. 20 sounds a bit off as it should probably boost to the same level in most if not all gears. (without a specialist map or boost controller)

you shouldn't be running that much boost on a standard car. Mine was running about 1 bar before the ecutek remap and they had to modifiy the actuator to get it to boost over 1 bar. Now it's mapped to boost to 1.2 bar.

Blue Dragoon had to have the same actuator mod as mine (bugeye WRX) to get over 1 bar.

yeah i knew zerosports was a company, i think its just the way you worded it as if your car was some sort of special edition made by them

be interesting to see what you find but either way the boost sounds wrong!

Part of the problem with Jap imported cars is the inability to be able to identify the quality of the insides of the engine or any other mods.

If we could be certain that it had steel rods and decent pistons then higher turbo boost wouldn't be a problem.

I suspect that as it has a Zero sports ECU and other Zero sports parts it might have a proper engine, - but then again ????

I would set it at 1.1 bar max for safety and leave it like that.

There are Zero spports specialists around down 'South ' that might be able to look into the ECU and reset it for Uk fuel and so-on. Do a search on the internet or look in the appropriate magazines. OR maybe someone on here can point you in the right place.

David Hendry cars are official distributor for zero sports, they might be able to help or point in the right direction.

My MY98 WRX came to the UK with loads of Zerosports stuff fitted.

ECU
Up-pipe
IHI Turbo
Suspension

All have badges on them to identify them as Zerosports.

Apart from the suspension the other 3 parts come as an "Off the shelf kit". Mine used to boost to 1.2 bar and had no det on 98 ron and millers. They do run some very aggressive advance on the ign timing from what I have been told.

I now run a PFC at 1.25 -1.3 bar

Why would the coils cause it to pink? All they do is fire the plugs.

If its pinking then something is wrong with fueling or advance or boost, or even all of the above.
