Default this is dumb, guinness?

I apolgize in advance, im from the states and im sure things are a bit different here but we always like the first posters to do a search for a thread before posting.

I swear I did!!!

But I couldnt find anything about the record holder for longest power slide or drift...? I thought the Japanese market and UK got everything a year earlier than the USA. Our 02 wrx is the GD bugeye model... But for you the 01 right? So the record holder was in an 01 UK WRX, so it was the bugeyed model and not the GM/GC model.

Google "guiness+sideways+driving+record" and there's a couple of BBS threads form elsewhere about it. Couldn't find the actual thread on here 2h11m18s, beating the previous 15m record quite significantly. IIRC Simon only stopped when a tyre failed.

I'm sure he stopped when it ran low on fuel, got fuel surge and straightened up The tyres still have loads of wear left when he'd finished

OK just what I figured... Our 01 imprezas are still the GC body so a few people were confused. That and the guinness link http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/...recordid=56955
shows a GC coupe... MY98? I think...
Does anyone know where I could find any video footage, alot of us really really wanna see it.

The car shown on the Guinness site is IIRC Simons own Sti 3 Type R Limited

He used a a UK MY01 model GD WRX (which would have been your MY02 as we run our model years differently to you) provided by a Subaru dealership called Listers for the record attempt

As said above, the record ended when the car was just about out of fuel, bit of fuel surge and I just wasn't quick enough to catch it.

But to be honest, I was delighted to be able to get out of the car and think I said something like "i'll never drive sideways ever again!"
