Default No rear wiper - easy fit ?

I have a 2001 bugeye and it's the first car I've owned without a rear windscreen wiper - very annoying. Will the wiring be there to the instrument stalk to fit one or is it more of a job than that ? Cheers Martin

Not there unfortunately. It isnt like a Ford Capri L/GL where the wiring looms were the same.....

It would be a huge amount of work to get one fitted. You would need a new stalk with controls for the rear wiper, motor, all electric, and probably a new rear window with a hole in it for the spindle. Even if you could buy the parts 2nd hand from a breakers, I would think you would still be looking at a few hundred pounds all in.

I don't see why it would be so hard. When the right parts are within easy reach, its somrthing I'll be doing to my UK classic.

Yes the stalk is different but with the classic its pretty easy to find a rocker switch from another car and mount it where the fog lights switches are. I was offered everything to do the job for £100 (rear window, wiper motor, bottle etc. ) but the deal never came through. Just ring RAC windscreen or whoever to do a remove and refit (£60 IIRC) of the rear window and then install the rest.

I've also changed my normal mirrors to JDM folding ones too without any major hassles.

Only issue with classics is the JDM glass is a different shade but with some light window tinting it will be hard to see.
