Mine's in at the minute (it's actually done 44,000 miles but doesn't do much any more so the next service was automatically the big one, transmission oil change etc).

They're talking about £800 - is this right ????

Are P1's massively different?

Only have a UK Turbo but my 60k service was £365 - at a dealer.

 

I doubt it's that different (if at all) - I guess I was expecting £500 at most.

Anyone else any views? Or ideas as to where I might be able to find out?

I was expecting around £500 and nearly fell over when I asked the dealer for a price.

 

If you have no warranty left then can I suggest a third Party scooby garage. It's the labour element that dealers charge that hike the price up.
If you are that way inclined, take your own plugs and fluids and get the 3rd party to just do the labour.
Whilst it's a special car, it is still only 4 wheels, an engine and a gear box It's not like you are getting it re mapped or anything is it.
If I had access to a ramp and some way of disposing of oil properly, i'd have done all of my own services.
Don't be paying £800 it's a con

 

Gordo, would suggest that unless you have an extended year 6 warranty you may be better to consider a non Subaru garage.

 

I do have an extended warranty so would rather keep it in the dealer network.

Am deliberately not naming the garage involved, suffice it to say it's in the South. Have just called our old garage in Scotland who quoted £400.......

There is an argument for charging higher prices in the South (higher wages and premises costs) but this will be partly outweighed by higher throughput. Am waiting for the garage to call back - the lesson learned may well be letting the other half book it in and take it without confirming what it's going to cost.....

Some clarity - apparently the P1 needs a cambelt at 4yrs (vs 3 yrs for other UK turbos) - this is why the 3yr/40,000 service is cheaper but the 4yr/60,000 is dearer. Guess this makes sense...

 

Check the warranty doc's too. Some items are no longer covered on P1's above certain mileages/age. The warranty renewal price is higher for the P1.
But, that's a lot of cash, my Classic Turbo was due a 60k before I sold it and was quoted £500 down here in Wales.

 

My P1 had the big service (Cam belt change) at 45 k, I am sure thats what my service book said.

The warranty renewal is higher for a P1, I guess thats something to do with the V5 engine. But when I looked into year 6 warranty it was only some minor trim bits that were not covered.
