Agree with Pete:- If you want the best then it has to be AP, BUT ask yourself do you really need to spend £1200 on better stoppers? If you're a track day junkie then yes, as good brakes are probably the best mod you can do! However, if you use your car on the road then the standard Subaru 4 pots with some good pads (e.g. Pagid blacks) will be more than sufficient.

Speak to Alyn at AS performance for a bit of advice.

The OE 4 pots are very adequate for road use, but can be improved for minimal cost by adding Goodridge stainless braided lines and DOT5.1 fluid. Next time you need pads go for Ferodo DS2000 (might be branded "Performance" now ?) or DS2500 ( "Race" ?), Mintex 1144 (fast road) or 1155 (road & track) or Pagids (expensive, but good). Can all be done for under £200

Thanks but the brakes on her at the moment are 2 pots sliders and not good so as upgrading I thought of putting some nice calipers on her with excellent stopping power

What do you think of Bremsport anyone

If you want to fit brakes, then get some get either AP, Stoptech or Porsche.

Got AP 6-pots with 355mm discs on my WRX, and they are amazing, When I was looking for a big brake conversion, I looked at cheaper alternatives, but in the end I decided to spend the extra couple of hundred and get some AP's,

Even thought they cost £1,400, its the best mod Ive put on my car so far along with the ecutek remap.

If he owns a WRX, then theres quite alot wrong with the standard discs and pads.

there prone to major fade after about 5 or 6 mins af hard use on the backroads... Not good at all

Before anyone starts shouting, the remedy is on its way

I have to agree with pete on this one.
For normal road driving, the standard 4 pots with uprated pads are more than adequate, unless you drive like a numpty!

For track use, then obviously, bigger brakes would be a good investment. I just can't see the point of £1500 for a brake upgrade on a road car that will never see the track!
More money than sense!

Remap was £500,(Bit of a bargain)

You sound like my dad, He always moans how much money I spend on the car and telling him I spent £1,400 on a set of brakes, I wouldnt hear the end of it, But I would rather spend it on my car, then going up town like my mates p1ssing it up the wall.

Hopefully the car will be seeing a few trackdays next year, dont think I could have trusted the 4-pots, they where terrible on the road, where as the 6-pots Ive never had brake fade once.
