Cheap B&B needed prior to Motor Show on 19th!? Calling Midlands posse!
Morning all,
Any of the Midlands posse know of any cheap and not totally sh%gged B&B near to the NEC!?
I am on business on the 18th in London and then want to go to the Motor Show on the 19th (preview day!??). Suffice to say it would be silly to drive back to Hull and then back again the next day!
Any ideas very welcome!!
Many thanks,
Jon.

Jon,
i guess that the problem is that the Midlands Posse don't have to stay at B&Bs 'cos we live in the area
Also, during any NEC event, all local hotels/hostelries get full (or charge silly rates).
Maybe search for a Travelodge type place a junction or two down/up the motorway (M6, M5, M42 or M40) which would at least be cheaper than the petrol home.
Probably best not to stay somewhere "towards" Birmingham (e.g. Chelmsley Wood), lest you find your pride and joy missing in the morning.
A quick AltaVista on +"Bed and Breakfast" +Birmingham came up with a couple of thousand hits - so keep South or East of the NEC (Solihull, Meriden, Coleshill) and have a browse!

Boomers correct, it`ll be a nightmare trying to find somewhere local.
You could try..........
The Coleshill Hotel in Coleshill.
Grimstock House Hotel, Gilson nr Coleshill
The George and Dragon, Colehill
I`m sorry not to have the telephone numbers, you`ll have to try telephone directories.
Hope this helps

Paul,
heck, i never realised that the "George and Dragon, Colehill" did accommodation. They still sell FIFTY OUNCE STEAKS for less than fifteen quid (including chips and side). If you can get in there then _mega_ place to be!
'Fraid that i am having the South Wing re-panelled in oak, and Paul has the builders in re-surfacing the tennis courts; otherwise you could kip down in the stables (although maybe Kev has finished parqueting the great hall!).
