Dear All,

Some low-life smashed the rear passenger window on my MY98 4-door.

Any ideas where I can get hold of replacement glass? Autoglass say it would take them 2-3 working days, and I don't want to wait that long... They will fit it if I can source the glass myself though.

Any dealers able to help? Any other suggestions?.

Thanks,

Alex

No chance. Had this problem looking for a windscreen.
Its not a stock item.
You might be able to get one from a scrap yard.

I had the windows on my car etched with the chassis number at Autoglass (Crawley) on Saturday.

I took the opportunity to enquire how easy it is to get replacement glass and was told "no problem, we always have them on the self".

Strange.....

Good job it's not a Jap import, the guy said it takes them 3 weeks+ to get the glass!

Just checked the stores...

2 door - both doors, both rears and back

4 door - front door and rear door on driver side

Sorry Alex

Cool

I got glass for my WRX inside 7 days, and that came from Japan.

Dear All,

Thanks for your replies, esp. PC

Unfortunatly the unanimous opinion of all london-based glass replacers is that this is a main dealer supplied part, or pretend that they keep them in stock, but quote a 2-3 day delay in supplying....

I've ordered one for AM delivery from those nice Cheam Motors people.

Thanks anyway...

Alex.

edit: Autoglass quoted a price of £250+vat fitted - Cheam quote £112+VAT and around £48 to fit! shop around if it happens to you...
