They have a similar set up in Farnborough, but with the back doors open. It looks even less suspicious from a distance, 'cos it looks like a works van. By the time you spot the copper sitting in the back it's too late. At least it has Police written on the front and maybe sides.

I now find myself slamming on the brakes whenever I see a van parked at the side of the road. Even when I'm not speeding.

Anyway, surely if a broken down vehicle was left on the road where this van was, it would get "Police Aware" stickers and soon be towed away. Isn't this police van itself a hazard then?

I like the story where a builder put a cardboard sign up before a speed trap. The tax collectors, sorry Police, where annoyed that everyone was obeying the speed limit. Obviously losing too much revenue etc.

Now, where's that cardboard box...

Jerome.

There is an article in todays Sun about a new super dooper surveillance van for catching us naughty motorists. It's packed with high tech gizmos, but the registration plate is blanked out so you can't memorise it!

Alas for the coppers, those lovely people at the currant bun have missed blanking out the plate on the picture on the website!

Here it is, read the article and take note of the van.

They use Escort vans in Essex. 3 of them, all looking a bit old and tatty, 3 different colours.

Just testing something my @rse.
