Default Who Misses their Old Scooby?

Sold mine a year ago - and everytime I hear that boxer growl go past me, I hanker after getting another. I had a Ralliart VR4 since - altogether probably a better car, but I don't miss it like I do the Scooby - I found it a more involving drive, and just loved the sound.
It's impractical for me to have one (the Audi is too practical, and great on fuel), and the Cupra R is....well, actually that could go
Quite fancy another one anyway, even though they're common as muck, and most drivers nowadays tend to wear burberry caps and have attitudes
Anyone else miss their old one?

was looking at piccies of my trusty old MY95 5dr the other day.......

went all duey-eyed........
Although I've got an MY99 now, in blue, 4dr, big exhaust sound etc, I probably wont miss it as much, as the MY95 was my first Scooby

Looking forward to my next one though

Dan

Have to say its one of the only cars I have not missed. My old Lotus Elan SE is certainly the most missed and am still tempted with another

Happened to me mate.

Went from my baby, which I loved, but kept getting parts stolen from it, after I spent loads of money on it, In the end it had to go.

Sold the Scooby, and thought I would get something that I would like, The car was in mint condition with low miles, and no scratches or stone chips on her at all, But I loved my old scooby to much and it didnt matter how good the car was, it was not a Scooby, after 2 months the car was sold in 1 day of advertising it.

What else could I replace the Audi with, but another Scooby, but I was a bit disappointed with it as a standard car, now I have all my mods in place, Ive started to forget about my classic and love my newage car more.

Salsa - there are some weird lights coming out underneath your cars are you hosting a UFO landing site

Back on Topic - Nah, I don't miss mine (had two) at all anymore. Good riddance I say My 2000 UK scoob was the first performance car I owned so I have fond memories attached to the heap of junk! But then the P1 was a different story. But I soon got fed up with that one so I taught my P1 a lesson it will never forget

Glad I had the pleasure of driving one though Because I now know all this talk about scoobs being good at handling twisty lanes is a complete myth under steer pancakes anyone

Hi Sulli, paulmc from the vr4 forum.

I bought a scooby a few weeks ago and am surprised how bad a car it is.

There is nothing wrong with the car mechanically but it is,

Noisey, slow, small, uncomfy, rattles here and there.

+ points it handles very well and has a great gearbox. Also bits are cheap as chips.

I have a list of stuff waiting to be put on once I get home again so should solve a few of the above.

I wish I kept my VR4

Is the vr4 actually a good car, its just anytime ive seen one i always think it looks very bulky and alot of body role on corners? I have'nt ever driven one, so thats why im curious as to what there like.

Yes night and day between the scooby and VR4. The scooby handles so much better than the VR4 prob due to its weight. The VR4 has active yaw control like the evo so you can really push it if you want but as you say it is bulky and heavy. If you put the 2 of them together it would be close but the scooby is more direct and easier to drive fast. All be it alot slower in a straight line. My car is totally standard though my VR4 had 306bhp with exhaust, filter and boost at 0.9bar. no ecu work.

I have put a load of sound insulation in the car and more to go in. I will be doing the usual de-cat and up the boost when I get home so will be intersting to see what diff that makes.

The car that brought me onto here, my old MY94 WRX, definitely miss that the most. I'd like to get another one day in the future as a project car. Will probably never happen, but I can always dream.

Certainly not the best looking scoob, but I loved it.
