Default Black the new Black???

Hi

getting a new wrx in black in a couple of days.

Bit confused though as I thought the official colour was Obsidian Black - pearl effect. Seen some recent cars for sale in Subaru dealers described as graphite black metallic. AFAIK, this isn't an available colour, anyone shed any light on this?

Cheers

I was also confused when I saw the new black listed as Obsidian Black Pearl.

My WRX was listed as Graphite Black when I bought it even though the Subaru touch up paint (which is the perfect match) is labelled as Black Topaz Mica. This shade of black (when clean!) takes on anything between a blue/green or purple shimmer in certain light conditions.

Hope this helps.

Think you're right. I've seen it as mica as well but forgot to mention it. In fact from memory when I bought mine I think it was described as graphite black mica. It is a great colour, particularly when polished.
