Of course it's possible.

As long as it's done correctly.

Have a peek at Carl Daveys thread in the projects section.
Lots of info on how he took his MY98 to 300bhp.

for now I only have a BMC short ram air intake, supersprint turbo back exhaust and dawes device ( 1,2 bar ).
I was thinking in adding an FMIC, IHI VF22 turbo (leaving the dawes at 1,2 bar), up pipe, fuel pump, FSE regulator, 550 cc injectors and Unichip...

If your aim is only 300bhp, i would opt for 440's over the 550's, unless you plan to go further.
FMIC isn't really needed to hit 300bhp either.

And i would've thought that a new ecu would take away the need of the dawes for boost control.

I would avoid the fragile vf22 like the plague.

I have a couple of vf22's on my workbench, combined mileage less than 5000 and both have thrown blades

Portugal ! Nice and warm...You would benefit from a fmic,td05 or vf28 sx reg/walbro pump 440's or 550's ported headers and uppipe depends where your going later, and apexi pfc
Theres a few classics around running 325+ on standard internals 1.5bar+

do you think is there any problem in just adding the fmic and the ihi? without the other stuff, it won't get the same results but is there any problem?

uk99, still on 1st (standard) engine, 120,000 miles and swapped the gearbox to sti as a precaution, original gearbox is in a uk97 thats been dragged and still going strong (which makes me wish I hadnt spunked the mullah on the sti box)

The only way i wouls have a VF22 is if it's turned into a MD304 like on mine!
Currently running about 320ish on a MY99 Uk turbo.

do you think just by changing the turbo to the vf22 ( mantaining 1,2 bar of boost ) a remap is really necessary or the my98 ecu can handle it?
