Default 30K service

My dad took his scoob in for a 30K service at Quenbys in Baldock.
The guy said it was a major service.
So guess how much it came to?.......................Nope.................... ................................................
.................................................. ................Still wrong............................................. ........................Try £421.08

And you look at what was done

Oil filter
Gasket Drain
Engine Oil
Air Filter
Fuel Filter
Spark Plugs
Gear Oil
Diff Oil
Anti freeze
Enviromental Charge (disposing of the filters and oils)

Next service thay said he needs new brake pads

What does this dealer charge an hour? Mine charges 65 + VAT. Still steep when it's the apprentice that will be doing most of this work.

About right I phoned around loads of dealers in the midlands and mine was £430 about 2 months ago.

Next one is only a minor (oil, filter) so should be much cheaper.

Remember just take their advice on things like brake pads and then get them done at a local garage charging £35/hr labour.

My 30k service a couple of months ago was about £430 so price seems to be pretty consistent. I always take it to beechdale in derby.

Had the 40k service this week, including rear pads it cost £350, the rear pads were about £50 plus fitting.

The front pads I always change myself, they last about 15k on average. Cost £101 from main dealer and I normally do them with a mate at work in my dinner hour.

seems reasonable, i got charged nearly £900 for my first 30k service since i owned it when it reached 90k a year or so ago.

Had a few other bits that needed changing too and it cost me a bloody fortune, and it was 2 weeks before christmas.

Dread to think how much servicing and things have cost me in the 3 years that i have had it.

before anyways says i got ripped off it was originally £450 for the 30k service, just had coil packs, head gasket and a few other bits changed.

at least the next big one isnt for 20k. still wont sell it though.

Get on down to JD Performance on Chequers Lane in Derby 01332 224181.

They will be a lot cheaper and specialise in Subarus for servicing, tuning and repairs.

Give em a ring and find out.

Yep, you could knock £100 off that price going to a specialist, I did for my 30k. Local stealer quote in Hull was £400.

Just booked mine in for its 30k service with Dennis Commom Subaru, was only £370, but he said it would be cheaper as i have a green free flow panelfilter which knocks 30 quid or so off my bill.

cars only got 26k on it but the previous owner always got it done early so now its due at 26k....MINT! suppose it looks good on the history

Same boat as me, I have a 04 WRX which has done 22k and Ive booked it in for a service at API's, and i need new tyres, and with xmas coming up its not good for the bank account.

£420 for Pirelli's, depend what size your wheels are, Im thinking of Toyo Proxes for my 18's and looking at paying £400.
