Question is this what, the guy says it is?

hello

quick question, I have learned quite a lot about imprezas over the years I have been on here, but I have just seen this car on ebay, I am looking for another impreza specifically a wagon.

just come accross this one, but it states its an sti, but it just seems to be everything that an sti isnt, such as the interior, the lights, the badges, the engine, the bodystyling, etc etc etc

have a look and let me know as its bugging me now.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...DME:L:RTQ:UK:1

TIA

Indeed; it should have 250PS. While youre asking him, find out what happened to the original seats which've been replaced with standard 1994 blue 'Wagon seats; and where the original intercooler has gone.....?

The SA was a poverty spec 'Wagon though and it deleted electric windows and mirrors along with AAC...

Doesn't mean it's a GL, a lot of imports say the wrong thing.

My 95 WRX says it's a GL, you don't see many GL's with turbos and stuff

Id seen in his history that it had been advertised before as a 'Type-SA' but I dont believe it is due to the power items fitted. People confuse the SA with the RA (hence this vehicle being described as such by the original ****/vendor); all it has in common really is that its cheaper, but in the SA's case it was a poverty spec car with the features deleted only to save cost. Its correct to state that early STI's didnt have a red coloured intake manifold, this car has a WRX intercooler and standard 1994 blue 'Wagon seats though and theres no doubt in my mind that its exactly what it is. When this **** bought it it had standard 1992-3-4 15" allo wheels too.

The advert says its un-molested .................. the best Imprezas you can buy are un-molested!!

Looks fine to me ...... could go very cheap?

Don't write it off because it hasn't got a 'Look-at-me-I'm-a-*******' Drainpipe exhaust

the point of the thread, pete, is that it doesn't appear to be what it's advertised as, is it not?

furthermore, if it's been bas tardised by fitting bits to it that don't belong there then it is molested, I'm sure you'll agree.

lol sorry couldnt resist

all I was saying is, he/she is advertising it as something it isnt, I actually beleive they think it is what they say it is, which is pretty bad as they were quite obviously mis-sold it in the first place.

Whilst the web link here in the ebay advert http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=4564685518 from the previous owner lists the body type GF8B58D as a WRX - SA (STi), if you look at this site you will see that the GF8B58D body type is common to
- Wagon WRX (220 PS)
- Wagon WRX - SA (220 PS)
- Wagon WRX STi Version (250 PS)

Whilst I was going to be charitable and suggest that maybe he just got confused, I spotted that he had deliberately removed the large WRX sticker from the tailgate and had added the STi badge.
