Evening all - Had my Scoob since March and love it dearly but I had my insurance renewel this week. I had a claim this year and it's soared. I'm thinking of something more pratical (I pray for folding rear seats) but reading the "what do you love about your scoob" brings it all back...I can't just sell easily and move on...

Does anyone have good recommendations? I need to save money on fuel (70 miles round trip to work each day) and insurance. Always loved the wagon - is it that much cheaper to insure?

I (not proud of this) have 1 years NCB now and I'm 29 . I have no points/convictions and a clean licence.

Is a wagon a sensible idea? Any other marques people would promote?

Today I brought home a 330d and left the scoob @ the BM dealer.

Now I have 40% better fuel consumption, a TV, sat nat, leather, decent air con, etc.















BUT I also left my heart @ the BM dealer.

 

Mannin - Insurance premiums dropped? Did consider a 320 and did look at a 330 but sadly my budget would only suit a "rough-as-a-dog" 330d...

Unless they've damn tempting finance of course.....

Silly question....can you watch telly AS you drive or does it not work?

I went from a 330ci to a WRX, my insurance came down 50 quid and my mpg went up (a fraction), which surprised me.

You can't go far wrong with a BM, although mine was a tad unreliable. May be worth looking at petrol BMs cause they seem to loose money faster so you can get some good 2nd hand deals and should make up for the lower mpg.

Personally I'd propably go for a VAG diesel, loads about and plenty of deals to be had on older models like the leon.

 

Insurance has gone down, grp 20 to grp 16.
but full NCB so Fc even on a STI type UK PPP was only about £450

as for the telly while driving, NO it's against the law...........




but with the help of a chap I know, my passenger can!

 

I went from 330Ci sport to a sti ppp, insurence was v similar, fuel costs went up hugh amount.

I know what you mean about VAG, but the BM is MUCH nicer.
