my girlfriend needs another car due to some scallies crashing into her Calibra (see here... http://www.clubcalibra.net/forum/sho...3&page=1&pp=20 )

So I am now looking at the options...
Calibra 2.0 Turbo 4x4
Impreza 2.0 Turbo Estate/Wagon/Hatch

My dad has an L reg Impreza (non-turbo) which is OK.
I drive a LWB Frontera and a Honda VFR750.

From what I have seen the Impreza's are more expensive than the Calibra but I/we would prefer the Impreza for obvious reasons.

I know it's a long shot but you guys are probably the best to ask before I just totally write of the idea...
Is there any chance of us finding a cheap one?
(Already checking ebay and autotrader).
Can any of you point me in the right direction?

We would consider acident damaged (cat d or maybe c depending on what it was) and stolen and recovered etc.

 

get a nice calibra and budget for a VTS locked box. There was a nice LE on Mig (i think) t'other day.

couldn't find it to look at, i know a calibra turbo will turn up though.
just want to make sure an Impreza is not an option before I totally focus on that.

It's not an LE, only a DTM, but still nice.

 

A 'cheap' Impreza will cost a damned sight more than a decent Impreza; think about it..........

 

How "cheap" do you mean, what's your max budget?
As in another thread, imprezas are dipping below the 3k mark now. Check insurance quotes as well before you buy. You may be surprised.

Oh yeah you better believe it! Pay 3k for a dog, then your new bottom end is 1.5k+, full service a subaru is 600quid (it'll need it!!), new AFM is £300, knackered suspension and bushes replacing 1k, it's endless! When bits are expensive the last thing you want is a neglected one.

Sorry for shouting, but its a critical point!! If I could give one message to all newbies it would be that there is no such thing as a cheap scooby, sonner or later, you pay!
